Lycanthropy is an infliction found in both mythology and many fantasy world, including The Wraith Globe. In the Wraith Globe, Lycanthropy originated from the magic of Necrotus, when Necrotian mages tortured and exterminated innocent peasants. Most of these test subjects either died or went mad, but a few magically merged with vermin and predators in their cells, causing them to become Lycans. They broke free from their captors and wandered the wilderness. Throughout history, this process has been refined and lycanthropy is now a curse that can be placed on a victim. This curse can become hereditary as a recessive gene, allowing for natural-born Lycans. In all nations except for Necrotus and Ban-Rock-buren, Lycanthropy curses have become highly illegal for their ability to destroy an individual's life.

Early Symptoms

Early symptoms of Lycanthropy include twitching, incoherent mumbling, drolling, and inconsistent quadrupedal movement. Many who experience these early warnings of incurable Lycanthropy decide to simply end it before the suffering gets intense. In Necrotian culture, this sort of sickness comes as a bad omen to not only the individual but to their friends, family, and other associates.

Cures for Lycanthropy
