Lirean's Feast of New Life

Spring's Providence

"Along with being one of the most anticipated annuals celebrations of Lirean, The Feast of New Life marks both the beginning of a new season and the beginning of a new and sudden drive towards the future of our rapidly growing community and infrastructure."
- Felgrim Ulwin, Current Silver Cloaks Guild Master

General Info

Of all the local celebrations in the small Algorian town of Lirean, none are looked forward to more than the Feast of New Life. After the long and hard winter, many of the folk in Lirean are worn down by the hard lifestyle and lack of food. However, during the Claw of Sunsets, the third month in the Calendar of Talmar, the people of Lirean and the surrounding farms and town come from far and wide to celebrate the end of the long and dreary winter months. The townsfolk do this by feasting on what remains of the winter stockpile of food and supplies and dance over the snow-covered streets as they begin to thaw.

The Hunt of New Life

After the celebrations of the Feast of New Life, the people of the Algorian Triplici Point begin the hunting season by going on a three-day-long hunting excursion. Nearly all of the town's inhabitants take place in this hunting expedition, but young children, the elderly, and families usually stay behind for obvious reasons. This celebration is highly anticipated during the winter months for obvious reasons.

History

The Feast of New Life has been celebrated since Lirean inception and formation in 1257 Partum Globus, but it was only just officially recognized and named in 1371 Partum Globus. Before then, The Feast of New Life was celebrated by Individual families instead of Lirean and the surrounding settlements as a whole.

Observance

The Feast of New Life is celebrated annually around the middle of the Claw of Sunsets, the third month in the Calendar of Talmar.
