The Locking Cage

The Locking Cage is a high-security prison that belongs to the Shape Chasers. The Shape Chasers bring those that they suspect of being shapeshifters to the Locking Cage by way of transportation seal.   The Locking Cage is a large fort once was dedicated to defend the coastal city of Usosa, until the city was destroyed by the Molten Ocarina, turning it into a lava field. The fort was abandoned, taken over by bandits, and later by the Shape Chasers, who cleared out the fort and executed the bandits as shapeshifters.   The fort was rebuilt and repaired, adding comfortable living quarters for the members of the Shape Chasers, and small, dark cells for the prisoners. They also built interrogation rooms, filling them with torture devices. Magical seals glow in the cell halls, disabling any shapeshifting magic from being used. There is also a chamber with a permanent teleportation seal, which the Chasers can use to easily transport prisoners to their headquarters. There is likewise a teleportation chamber leading to the court where the shapeshifters will be judged.   It's not a happy place, and most people keep a wide berth from the Locking Cage. It has a bad reputation, as does the free inhabitants, who are known to accuse anyone they don't like and who in any way wrong them a shapeshifter, bringing them with them to interrogate them until they get the answer that they want.   But the Chasers live a comfortable life of luxury, priced highly by the paranoid rulers for taking down all the conspirators that want to take their power away from them. Those that want to live a life of luxury and have little qualms about who suffer for it are often drawn to joining the Shape Chasers, simply to live in The Locking Cage.
