Grumbron Undercaves

Located near the edge of the Falchelmn Sea, the Grumbron Undercaves is a mining town within the Grumbron Mountains. In the past, the Grumbron Undercaves was simply a mining shaft, where a group of dwarves lived and worked. They mined coal, while keeping the precious stones that they found, as they liked how they looked. They spent time like this for a few centuries, drawing a few other miners to join their fold, until one of the newer miners suggested they treat and sell the stones that they found. The original miners were not interested, but the newer were, and a dispute split the camp in two parts, which soon lead to the butchering of the old miners. The new miners would have the stones polished and turned much more valuable, then sold them for high prices. As the old miners had amassed quite a few of these stones, they quickly amassed a fair bit of wealth.
This would draw the attention of the green dragon Mengrith who would infiltrate the Grumbron Mines and take a leadership position as the elf Reyrnann Alderdream. He would have them expand the camp downward, creating a town which would attract more people that would mine even more, and also produce various items that could be sold for immense fortunes. A large vault was built deep in the mountain, where gold, treasure, and secrets were hoarded. This was what would become the undermountain mining town of Grumbron Undercaves, who sold coal, jewels, and drew vast amounts of people looking to earn a position of power and reputation, as well as wealth that wasn't as distributed as people were taught to believe it was best to let Reyrnann handle that.
Reyrnann would later on be discovered to be the dragon Mengrith, and since then, the townspeople live in fear of what might happen if they were to try to do anything. They would not seek outside help either, concealing the fact that the mayor of the town actually is a dragon. Self-preservation through secret-keeping, silence, and hard work has become the way of life in the Grumbron Undercaves.
