The Kahsin Torach Union

The Kahsin Torach was a trading corporation that relied heavily on the black market. They dealt in anything they could get their hands on, including weapons, armour food, jewelry, pottery, animals, raw materials, and information.   The Union was formed in the Second Age of Irëduin by an ambitious Mürhôstan trader, who decided that morals were overrated, and proceeded to do anything to get the largest profit out of every venture. In 1050 Third Age, the current leader of Gu B'omarrin Kashar approached them and offered protection if the Union only sold to them. The Union Council refused, saying it would undermine the business. However, they did accept protection in return for selling their wares at reduced prices when dealing with the rebellion.   In the Fifth Age of Irëduin, after a nasty incident inolving some members of the Kasuri Athándr and some fake gold coins, the Union spread to the other Kingdoms, including Kárydir, the Earthworld, and Erunor. They avoided the Rift for good reason, sticking to the other six Kingdoms. They were particularly successful in Kárydir, becoming the main supplier for the Deathwatch in the Sixth Age, a growing organization who sought to take over Kárydir. When Deathwatch was defeated, the Union was forcefully disbanded by Starflame, who had bitter memories concerning the double-dealing merchants.   The Kahsin Torach Union had frequently employed less than honest means to get what they wanted, including sabotaging opponents, theft, murder, forgery, and other, more secret methods. They often employed mercenaries and bounty hunters to protect their convoys, including Thyre Adarí, Shabbaa'nalek, and Kyzquro. These employed guards were no more honest than the merchants, and often small-but-valuable things disappeared from the caravans. The Union watched their records carefully, but if the employees were clever enough, they sometimes stole something, sold it, stole it back, then returned it to the Union, pretending to have caught the thief and recovered the item. Double-faced treachery like this often occured in the criminal underworld, and the Kahsin Torach Union was at the centre of it.
