The Scar

The remnant left behind by the Worldwound after it was closed, The Scar is a gigantic series of canyons and crevasse which scar the Great Plateau of Sarkoras. These canyons run for miles splitting and converging across the land that once made up a kingdom, laid low by their own corruption by the forces of the Abyss.   The amount of raw Chaotic and Negative energy that poured forth from the Worldwound still influences the area that surround The Scar, the very land itself suffused with the energy of the Abyss. Strange phenomena, and twisted mockeries of nature and the natural order are extremely common in the presence of The Scar, and few adventurers dare draw too close.   The Reclaimers, and descendants of Sarkoras seek to reclaim the land, but progress is slow against the sheer magnitude of The Scar, and little actually progress has been made anywhere close to shadow of the old Worldwound.   The Scar itself is rumored to be a nightmarish gathering point for demons which were stranded with the felling of their Demon Lord, and the closing of the Worldwound. And this shadows of this collection of canyons seem to seethe with a life of it's own.

Adventure Hooks:

  • A hill on the horizon turns out to be a large island of earth levitating 40 feet in the air held aloft by a potent amount of chaos magic drawn from The Scar. What strange life lives on this island, and how will the adventurers reach it.
  • A tower at the edge of one of the Scar canyons is falling into ruin, worse the tower had a basement which now leads into the cavern of a potent Abyssal creature.
  • The land between two canyons is distorted by the confluence of the canyons, and everything has grown or shrunk to abnormal sizes. Bees the size of horses, bears the size of a mouse.
  • The group is caught in a storm that has blown off The Scar, and are haunted by nightmarish visions of the Abyss and it's demonic hosts.
