Flametamer Item in The Realms | World Anvil

Flametamer

The Flametamer was named after the Convergence. It gained it's name after it's wielder, a Shaman of the Demon race, harnessed the power of the three major volcanos in the Demon Realm in an attempt to prevent a cascading eruption caused by the chaos left in the post-Convergence Realm. The Shaman themselves has had their name lost to time, in part because they were unknown before their actions and also because after their feat, they vanished from the Realms.
Flametamer is, in itself, a simple staff, not unlike the ones that most Shamans carry. In fact, it appears to be created by the same methods and with the same materials as the common staffs. Until a closer look was taken at it, a few years before the Awakening.   This look revealed that the wood, metal, and gems that made up the staff was suited solely to manipulating fire mana. It was thought that the wood was from a Ashen Tree , but closer look revealed that the tree it was harvested from was ancient and had collected so much fire mana that it would be considered connected to the entirety of the Realm. The gold used to hold the gems in placed was found to have just as much fire mana, implying that it was pulled straight from a volcano, while every gem had been placed and manipulated so that the wielder would be able to control all the power regardless.   It's considered even more of a marvel due to these discoveries, while also shedding light on how it is possible for it to control the volcanos. Already wary from the disappearance of it's original wielder, the discovery of just how much power is flowing through it at any time dissuades all but the most foolish or arrogant from trying to wield it for fear of burning alive.
