Merba
The shouting is the first sign that visitors to the city of Merba. It is a loud place, and everyone who goes there finds it so alive. Without a night to be discreet in, or frankly any sense of politeness to speak of, the people of the city see no reason to hide the squeals, the cheers, the screams and every other sound that the delighted folk of the city makes. For this is a city of pleasure, although not necessarily of comfort.
A Honeyed Trap
Merba is a place of earthly delights far from any real earth. The people of Merba enjoy living life to its hedonistic fullest and indulge in every possible delight known to sophonts and then a few more. Every kind of card game, dice game or other game can be played in the gigantic gambling halls that appear to be a dime a dozen in this town. Brothels serve sophonts and demonkind alike. Of course, this is all part of Meriva's design. Every sophont who decides to purchase a prostitute or buy into a casino is under the sway of the city's vibrant life. Very few of these sophonts are ever allowed to leave, unless to get more patrons to fill the pleasure houses to bursting.Layout
The city is built across a flat plain that is nestled between a semi-circle of gigantic mountains. These provide a protective barrier should the area ever be invaded, but also gives the impression of "being snuggled between two lovers," as locals often term it. People who try to map the city seem to constantly be lost in its labyrinthine alleyways that wind between each building. It's impossible to get anything close to accurate directions. That is, unless one is going to the The Palace of the Soaring Dome or one of the handful of dens and bars that line the square outside. If one wants to go there, you'll be able to find it easily due to the huge soaring cathedral-like dome that crowns the structure and towers over the rest of the city.

Fire Prince of Sex
The city's government is headed by the Fire Prince Meriva, from whose name the city takes its name. They embody the city's loose reputation, as they are known of their ravenous appetite for love and their cunning ability to woo anyone to their side. Because of this, the city is rather peaceful in comparison to many other parts of the Tortuous Fire. They rule the city with the closest that the dæmons can come to fairness, and they look good doing it.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
