Dust

Dust is a hallucinogenic that takes it's users on a fantastic journey. Usually, their thoughts when they take the drug will decide how their hallucinations go. For example, if you’re thinking of a loved one that you miss, and that is far away, you may hallucinate about visiting them. Or perhaps you instead, you'll meet them on the moon, and you'll be out in the barren environment without a spacesuit, and still be breathing fine. Maybe the user just wants to get away, and they’ll imagine flying through the Crab Nebula. No matter what they hallucinate, the journey is almost always fantastic.

Transmission & Vectors

Dust is a narcotic in powder form that is usually ingested. Usually it's mixed into a drink, though sometimes it's mixed into food.

Symptoms

Taking dust usually causes hallucinations that last for 2-5 hours (1d4+1) and makes the person completely unaware of their surroundings as the hallucinations become their reality.   If a someone is trying to interact with the user while they're under the effects of Dust they are either ignored, or brought into the hallucination in some way.

Affected Groups

Any humans, kalians, and "yeti" species can be subjected to the effects of dust.

Cultural Reception

Dust is an uncommon narcotic that is found almost anywhere. It's most common in remote colonies and mining settlements where there is little entertainment. It's also more common among those that have a harsh reality they face in their lives, and use it as an escape.
Repeated use can result in an addiction to the drug. If an addiction forms, it can be very hard to recover as the real world is so harsh compared to the fantasy worlds they explore on the drug.
