Crystal Alter of the Dragon

This crystal Alter is only a rough ovoid shape of streaked quartz placed beside the empty skull of a massive dragon. The Keepers of the Skull who lead the Urgleblurgblug fish folk rely on this special artifact to gain their priestly powers.
Experimenting on the rock is technically forbidden, but all the keepers do it anyway trying not to get caught. Current experiments include; making of a tincture from grit sanded from the alter, sacrificing wandering adventurers on its top, and the dancing on top of the stone while cutting the legs. Some gain powers and others do not, it is assumed to be the blessing of the Skull.


SECRET --To Be hidden after World Anvil SummerCamp 2021 //BEGIN The crystal alter is actually the brain crystal of the undead dragon Pluritexifan, Its removal was part of a sleeping curse placed upon the dragon by the mad wizard Orinfel. If it is ever returned to be inside the dragon's skull it will initiate the reawakening of the dragon from its slumber. The fish folk do not know this but at least some of Orinfel's apprentices did, and that knowledge may be out there still.

Significance

As the most holy relic of the Urgleblurgblug they would be willing to die and have their entire village die to protect it. At least most would, there are a couple Keepers who prefer to extend their life by any means necessary.

It appears to be a veined quartz about 6 feet long and 4 feet wide and tall, but subtly the patterns seem to change over time. It can even hypnotize some individuals into staring endlessly into the pattern.
