Faith, The Mother
A matriarch of the temple of Chauntea, found in the humble town of Fetterloc, this individual bears no name apart from her religious moniker. This woman is known commonly as 'The Mother' and sometimes, although rarely, addressed as Faith. Serving on the local council as voice of the people, Faith is widely regarded as a well-loved member of the community.
According to most accounts, Faith has been around as long as Fetterloc has had a temple, some even saying she was there during its construction. Called 'The Mother' for her motherly touch when dealing with the commonfolk, as well as her gentle mannerisms. Despite the remote nature of Fetterloc, Faith seems to command the respect of many important individuals around Pernium's End, her influence even reaching as far as the northern orcish strongholds. Representing Chauntea, the goddess of agriculture and fertility, Faith is well-respected among the farming communities and often even the destination of pilgrimages from lands suffering from drought and famine. Her deeds and miracles too many to count, and yet not recorded in a way accessible to many. A humble woman by all accounts, Faith represents herself, her people and her goddess with exceptional poise and grace.
Often wearing the simple cloth of a cleric with some additional linings and symbols to denote her position in the community. If it were not for her air and grace, she might be mistaken for a common clergywoman. Appearing elven, and never denying that lineage, it does not strike one as strange that she has been around as long as the stories suggest. However, the power possessed by this woman is something to marvel at, unlike any in her position or line of worship. The few who have witnessed her work have all devoted their lives to her cause, unable to comprehend an existence without such a purpose.
