Weaver and storage hills

The hills that produce the ramie are found on both riverbanks of the Krenzo river for miles and miles. The hills cover the riverbanks entirely through the territory of the skat'ra.

The plains are arid. The plant leafs the ramie is produced from must contain their moisture content as long as possible through the production phases. This constraint made the skat’ra raise many-many hills where the ramie is made. For them, it was cheaper because they could build as many hills as they needed. All the steps necessary to make the ramie, like scraping, heating, washing, and using special chemicals, are done at all the hills. There isn’t any specialization among the hills like it is for the skat’ra silk. The queens monitor the process itself. Usually, those closest to the weaver hills, but any queen can step in if she wants to.

The workers handle every step in the process. No exception. The one step that is a bit specialized is making ramie from the fiber. The smallest workers do this because their small mandibles can produce a much tighter weave and make the final product of better quality.

Warriors guard every hill and the vast plain. The Krenzo river is far from every other significant nation. Only the Calamor Empire is close somewhat, but the calamor won’t be able to use either the ramie or the silk. Since the founding of the weaver hills, there wasn’t any occasion that required the warriors to step in. Still, protection is there to guard the workers against potential deviants.

The ramie is stored in unique hills until dealers transport it to other nations. Workers handle the transport to the storage hills. The coordination of which storage hill holds how much ramie is overseen by the Silk Syndicate. They have a much better overview of which territories need how much of the textile.
You want it, we have it
