Behavior and Look
The pink mist is a non-materiel, tasteless, and the most dangerous and powerful force known in the multiverse. No physical law seems to be able to influence it directly and it is unknown if the pink mist itself is alive or just a form of chaotic energy. Chaotic is a good way to describe its nature generally as well. It is pure chaotic energy that manifests as pink mist in the material universes.
The light hardly shines through it, tho it seems the mist itself glows. Pink mist can’t be predicted, and nor can someone say what happens if an object or person comes into contact with it. A person that had contact can get ill or live through a personality shift. It happens as well that the person mutates heavily, often changing their whole being and species.
Anyone who gets too far into the mist is hardly seen again in this world.
Sometimes, splits in the multiverse open in the material universe. They are not uncommon and are often seen as fissures of the universe.
Small and hardly seeable as often the pink mist covers the area. That means that when such a fissure opens, that area becomes dangerous. The pink mist can’t be removed, nor does it seem to spread too far from its original location.
Most measurement equipment will be unable to detect the pink mist. The only thing that can be measured is the various influences that the mist has on its surrounding. Sudden peaks of mutations or drastic changes in the environment are often caused by the pink mist.
There is no known protection from the pink mist. The most advanced species, such as angels, are able to cover themselves from their influence for a short time. Long-term influences are impossible to prevent nevertheless.
Infusion
The pink mist can infuse other beings, worlds, or whole universes. To a specific point, nearly anything and any life form seemed to be influenced and infused by it. The pink mist is what gives the universe matter and life. That is at least what is assumed by the living beings that know about its existence.
The degree of infusing with the mist rises when coming into contact with it. With a higher level of infusing, new mutations and wild changes in matter, personality and powers can shift or appear. Yet, the infusion is never only power alone. It always takes its toll.
General Infusion of Planets
There is no known world in the multiverse that is not affected by the pink mist in one way or the other. The pink mist concentration varies heavily from planet to planet thought. Most planets are only affected in such simple ways, that the lifeforms will never feel or see any effect. There are not many intelligent species that even know about the existence of the mist itself.
Other worlds had less luck. Heavily infused planets are chaotic worlds with endless possibilities and effects for the population on them. These worlds can vary from blessed and heavily garden worlds full of endless and eternal life and peace, to worlds that can only be described as hell. Worlds that are so chaotic and so filled with mutations, that organized life in the form of villages and cities become impossible.
Weather
Planets that are heavily affected by pink mist, often have unique weather patterns or weather systems that are not explainable in any logical way. There can be rain that seems to appear out of nowhere. Temperature shifts are also possible, like a Desert and a Tundra that lay too close to appear in a normal way. These are the mild effects of heavily infused worlds.
More drastic weather caused by the pink mist can vary heavily from any normal weather. There are many examples throughout the universe.
A cloud covers the sky, but instead of releasing the water in the form of raindrops or snow, watery bubbles float slowly down to the surface. Anything that comes into contact with these bubbles is trapped inside. The further details of what happens to these unlucky ones in such bubbles vary between worlds. In one world, the bubbles will simply trap the person till they dry out and then pop without any negative effect on the trapped one. While other bubbles may begin floating through the sky, holding their prey till they are freed by others.
A fog that covers continents, so thick that you would be unable to see your own hands. These fog systems can stay for years and make photosynthesis impossible for plants. Mushrooms and life forms that do not need much light, prosper on these planets. Organized life often hides underground or in cities above the fog clouds. It is not uncommon that dangerous monsters to lure in the fog.
The most dangerous weather appearance is a pink mist storm. It can appear when pink mist leaks directly into an area. A certain amount seemed to be needed, but this information is not confirmed yet. In such a storm, clouds of pink mist rushed over an area. Anything in such clouds may be affected by the pink mist. This may result in transportation to other times or even dimensions, or to infusion for items or people.
Plantlife and Soil
The chaotic nature of the mist changes the flora and fauna, and the world itself: Swamps are covered by an endless fog, whole mountains float through the sky and oceans begin to become jelly-like. These are examples of what can happen, and it is hard to measure the degree of infusion as the mist itself can’t be measured. The only thing that can be seen is the result of its infusion.
Often animals and people in such infused worlds, see these infused flora as something normal, something they have seen their whole lives. Floating mountains may seem as natural as normal mountains for them. It is hard to say where this begins and where it ends. Things we may see as a normal natural appearance may be caused by mild pink mist infusion.
It is similar to plant life. Mutations may occur more drastically and more often in pink mist-infused areas. Fully new races of plant life can appear overnight. Plants that seemed to deny the laws of physics and nature, or plants that seemed to have no direct use, may appear. Examples of such plants are giant pitcher Plants that release their prey in unpoppable bubbles, trapping them forever and denying them decay. Or gigantic trees that cover whole continents and define their own ecosystems. There may even appear plants that are able to fuse or control intelligent life on their own.
Animals
It is hard to say where pink mist has affected the natural evolution of animals. It can only be said for suddenly appearing new life forms that were formerly unknown to the local population. Another way to ensure that something is pink mist-infused is when it seems to have no way of surviving with its behavior but still does. There may be dogs that never eat, but do photosynthesis with their fur. Or cats that are able to fuse with a humanoid to form catgirls. Animals that were not born infused and come in touch with pink mist often develop more drastically infusions than their natural-born comrades. Often these later infused animals develop unnatural behavior, like hunting just for fun or searching the contact with intelligent life actively by themselves without need.
Societies and magic
In many universes and worlds magic is a common thing. This is the case when the mist is stronger in that world, and people are born with infusions. Powers rising from these infusions are often similar in nature and are seen as magic by societies. Spells are the way for the infused to calm down their mind and give their power a pattern. It helps them to control themselves and their powers. What the spell is really saying is not important as only the person needs to believe and follow their own pattern that calms down their mind. In most such magic societies, such pink mist-infused persons are often referred to as mages or witches.
When many pink mist users are presented in an area, it can be observed that using their powers can weaken the presence of the pink mist in that area. It is assumed that the pink mist-infused ones draw the energy for their powers from the mist itself.
In any way, pink mist users always influence the society in which they live. Most infusions in the galaxy are given by birth on an infused planet. Societies that are formed with such infused beings around, often integrate them more naturally. Societies in which pink mist users appear later, often show more fear, and more hate towards them. It is common to fear what you can’t understand.

Infusion of Items
It is more common that items are affected by pink mist than living beings. The effects are not less drastic though and can be very dangerous for anyone that finds such an infused item. Usage of such items should only be done with much care or not at all.
An infused item often develops very unique effects that most societies describe as magic. A wand may suddenly be able to create bubbles with various effects. Or a children's card game suddenly affects the playing people and those around them. Societies often call such infused items artifacts or legendary items. They believe that their gods or forgotten civilizations gave such items their powers, not knowing that it was caused by natural pink mist infusion. As items are often existing far longer than people and their societies, they often have a strong influence over the history of whole continents.
A more rare case of an infusion of an item is awareness. This awareness may appear very limited, like an item that speaks and interacts with its user. An example is the magical bubble staff Sai, which the bubblemancer Saya Immerda uses. Using such an item may also lead to the infusion of the using person, like in Saya’s example.
A more drastic case of awareness is the creation of life through the pink mist. An item may come alive and develop powers unknown to any other species of the world. Examples, where this happened, are the two rubbery beings: Shintani and Lyn. While Shintani was born from a Balloon of Larissa that was infused by pink mist, Lyn was born from a beach ball that floated too deep into the pink mist. An example of a fully new race that was born this way is the plushdogs. The plushie Jaclyn of Saya Immerda was hit by a pink mist energy ball of Selissa Blondhaar. Jaclyn became aware of herself and soon she began living like other lifeforms and even transformed others into plushies like herself.
Effects on People
Contact with Pink Mist
Please avoid any contact with the pink mist if possible. The consequences of the contact are unpredictable and highly chaotic in nature. Nobody will be able to save you if you wander too deep into a pink mist area. It is possible that the mist transports you to a different time, a different place or even a fully different dimension in the multiverse. You would have no influence where you land without the required technology. And even with it, the travel through the pink mist stays dangerous.
Most life forms that enter the pink mist or come into contact with the energy of the pink mist, will get mutations. These mutations vary in heaviness and may be permanent or disappear after a while. Examples are sudden changes into a different species, development of new powers or a sudden and painful death.
It is also possible to be haunted and possessed by lifeforms of the pink mist, like a Naaby. Either way, coming in contact with pink mist is most likely a life-changing experience or the end of it.
Infusion
Any life form can be affected and infused by the pink mist. That process is called infusion as the mist binds to that person and affects them in often heavy ways. The race and the look can but not must change through this process and it often goes hand-in-hand with growing powers and mental problems. Voices that never become silent, split personalities, weird speaking patterns, or just total madness can be caused by contact with the pink mist. The mind can often not handle the changes and the random mutations.
In exchange, powers are given. These powers can vary heavily and reach from potential magic to creating things out of thin air or affecting others with the mist itself. More unlucky ones will only develop mutations though. These powers and mutations are unpredictable and are potentially harmful to the person as well. They rarely follow the laws of physic and can only be explained by the fantasy term of magic.
A pink mist infusion can be given at any time of the life. It can be given suddenly when getting into contact with pink mist directly or with time from the world itself. If the world in which the person lives is strongly infused with the pink mist, then there is a higher chance that people are born with small infusion of the mist. Often these powers are seen as gifts from gods or blessings from nature. People that are born with more infusion often have fewer problems with the infusion itself as they know nothing else.
Most infused people often meditate to get control of their powers and to get back control of their minds. Many say that the mist itself is talking to them or that they wake up and find out that they did something without knowing. They lose control slowly if they don’t find a way to handle their infusion. Mediation and peace of mind is the easiest way to do this. Another is to follow their own infusion and use it heavily as it pulls down the energy in the person's body till it refills again. Fighting against the new powers or mutations will result in backlashes and makes it harder to maintain control over themselves.
Short Term Effects
Short-term effects are these that appear when you come in contact with the pink mist, but it is only a very low density. Examples of that are the edges of pink mist fields or getting affected by the powers of a pink mist-infused item, animal, or person.
The effects may vary heavily as always but are most likely only short-termed. It is rare that a low amount of pink mist density will affect you permanently, but not impossible. Examples of such effects are short-term transformation to different species, sudden and limited mutations like archiving new powers, or the loss of your mind for a short time.
Long Term Effects
We describe it as long-term effects when you come into contact with pink mist either over a long period, like living on an infused planet or near a pink mist field. Or when you are hit by a high density of pink mist energy, like wandering deep into pink mist, are hit by a pink mist lighting, or get hit or affected by a powerful pink mist infused item, animal, or person.
Such long-term effects of pink mist are most often infusion and mutations of the affected person or item. It is way less dangerous if such long-term effects appear due to a very low density of pink mist that affects you over a long time. Your body will have time to get used to the mutations and the infusion, same as your mind. A sudden high concentration of pink mist is dangerous for the target. The mutations and the infusion often appear in an instant and may heavily damage the body and/or mind of the target. The most common toll that an affected person must pay is voices in their head and a light form of insanity.
Pink Mist Lifeforms
The pink mist is filled with life that most species will never understand. That life seems to be timeless and lives in such a chaotic environment between the universes that a normal mind will never be able to imagine even the easiest part of such a daily life. If you can even speak of days there.
One of the most common life forms of the mist are Naaby. These formless lifeforms often merge with lifeforms of other universes and give them powers. They form a symbiosis with their partner. That partner is referred to as a Caudian in most worlds. Other worlds are calling these people possessed and hunting them down.
The symbiosis between the Caudian and Naaby gives both powers in the physical world. The form of these powers can differ heavily, but what is most common is some sort of catalyst. The most common catalysts are tails that match the power in their form.
It is also assumed that what most societies refer to as gods are lifeforms from the pink mist. Creatures with immense powers and no feeling for time or space. Often formless or shapeshifting and always so heavily infused with pink mist that their pure presence can infuse other lifeforms and worlds around them.
Mist between the Dimensions
The pink mist is the aether. It is the void. The mist combines and splits the dimensions and universes. It is timeless and spaceless and yet it is there.
Universes in the Multiverse are bound together by the pink mist. The mist is the only known way to travel between one universe and a second one, yet it is always a dangerous journey.
The mist is chaotic and unpredictable. Even the most advanced races, like Angels, have heavy problems navigating through it and not be affected by its magic.
Anything that goes into the pink mist is in its hand. Where the destination is, when the destination is and how you arrive, it is not in your hand when you enter the mist. You can come out as a totally different person or not at all.
Many believe that the mist is also the final rest of all life. The place where souls go after their death is in the material world. As this can not be confirmed to this day, this information is primarily a theory.
Another theory is that the pink mist is the origin of all life, that souls have their origin in the planes between the universes.
