The Four Moons of Sagadorm [WASC2020]

Magical Impact of the Moons upon Sagadorm

The cores from blessed animal that power the magic of Sagadorm are depleted as they are used. Placing an empty core into the rays of the moons will slowly recharge the crystal core. Only the elemental match of the core and the moon with result in a charge. Meaning, fire cores could only be recharged during the months were the fire moon is closest.   The magic performed during a moon's perigee is strengthen for matching elements and decreased the farther the correct moon is in its orbit.

Geography

The four moons of Sagadorm are in eliptical orbit around the planet Sagadorm.   The orbits of each of the moons are offset so that only one is closest at a time. When a moon reaches the perigee (closest to Saagdorm) of one orbit, another is at its apogee (farthest from Sagadorm). The other two moons are half way between where one is getting closer and the other is traveling away.   The months of the calendar are based on the lunar orbits. The two weeks before and the two weeks after a moon's perigee. Each moon takes its turn in being the closet to Sagadorm. Looking at the orbits from above, they reselve four petals of a flower.

Natural Resources

The moons are giant crystals of different colors and are only used for magical purposes.   The impact of translucent orbs that may or may not concentrate the rays of the sun into "death beams" onto Sagadorm needs to be investigated.

History

The story of the Four Moons of Sagadorm are told in the creation story, the Five Celestial Dragons.   The legend and the actual story are the same. There were five dragons that fought in space. The four elemental dragos died fighting Argentric, the metal dragon. The petrified remains of the vanquished dragons became a part of Sagadorm and created the "earth." The cores of the slain dragons are now the moons of Sagadorm.   Caelic {KAY'-lic} (Air), Phenic {FEN'-ik} (Fire), Petric {PEH'-trik} (Earth), Hydronic {hy-DRON'-ic} (Water), and Argentric {ar-JEN'-trik} (Metal/Silver),

Tourism

It is not until nearly two thousand years after the formation of the Fairy Council (-1 BCE) that space travel is accomplished and humans are able to visit the moons.
