Levils
The Levils is a slowly growing mold fungus that can affect animals and plants.
They can grow in the more temperate areas of Orcerta as they prefer a temperature of 10-20°C and a humidity of around 60-80%.

Basic Information
Anatomy
Like most mold fungi, the Levils consist of a branched network of multinucleated hyphae, these colonies can be best described as "hair-like" and often have a blue-ish grey tint.
It has an inherent use of Power Signum which causes trees felled by the Levils to levitate.
Bascially, by infecting a tree it gathers nutrients to grow and produces Power Signum as a waste product.
The more the Levils covers its host the higher it will levitate.

Genetics and Reproduction
Levils reproduce by producing one-celled conidia which they then disperse by shooting them into the air.
The spores of Levils can hang around in the air for a long time and most often form spore-clouds which get swept away by the wind.
Once the Levils reached a certain height with its levitating host, it will disperse itself into the air and infect surrounding animals and plants.

Growth Rate & Stages
It slowly grows outward from a compact, lightly blue-grey spot.
It forms hair like, cone shaped structures that are connected by an underlying structure of root like vessels.

Ecology and Habitats
Currently the Levils is almost solely found in the Flying Forest.
This forest offers one of the best environments for it with it's almost constant temperature of 15-20°C and a moderate humidity with occasional rainfalls.

Dietary Needs and Habits
Levils infect trees and dig root like structures into them, "eating" through them until they cut fully through it.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
Levils are not exterminated in the Flying Forest due to its use in crafting antibotics.
The farmed substance called Levilicin is used to counteract bacterial infections.

Conservation Status
This type of fungus is generally not protected, quite the opposite is the case.
In all areas beside the Flying Forest it is mandatory to report occurances of the Levils due to its great potential to cause harm.
