Brand
The symbol for the empire is a pyramid. The Brand, done by a mystical tattoo artist, can be changed but only by an artist at great cost. Kirinians generally have the tattoos placed on the left side of their neck and use multi-colored ink. The level of detail in a tattoo is considered a sign of status and many citizens who ascend in influence or affluence after their original tattoo is inscribed have been known to have their Brands redone in more ornate styles in order to tout their successes. Kirinians who have earned the right to special Brands, such as the Chain of Kirin, are generally held in high regard. The Grand Kirinian
Sponsors provide entry fees and assemble teams. 5,000g entry fee, 25,000g winner take home, traditionally 20,000g to the sponsor, 5,000g to split amongst the winning combatants. It is rumored that those who acquit themselves well in the Grand Kirinian are invited by the Minister of Dominion to become a Chain of Kirin.Chain of Kirin
A contractual relationship with the Minister of Dominion on behalf of the Kirin Empire. Those who enter into this contract are given a special tattoo in invisible ink which depicts a chain around their current Brand. "Chains" who do not claim the Empire as their homeland also add a special insignia to their Brand which indicates a relationship with the Kirin Empire. The invisible ink used is only visible through magical means. It can be seen with True Sight or by anyone who can see through illusions who make a Perception Check with a DC of 20. It is unconfirmed how one may earn this contract, some rumors suggest that the members of the winning team of The Grand Kirinian are invited to enter into the pact.Economy
The Kirinian economy is as diverse as the geography within its lands. The Sundermines provide rich sources of ore while the farmlands of the south provide food for much of the subcontinent and even find their ways to markets in The Freelands and occasionally Dalkor. The coastal cities do great trade with all the people of Ankaluun and are often filled with merchants and sailors from other lands across Olquen.Politics
