Vaskar Mural

Many of us thought that learning the pronouncation of a long lost language would be impossible for quite some time. But then we discovered the Vaskar ruins in the middle of the Volker Desert. Our first explorers of that ruins were quite shocked when the walls started talking to them.
— High Sage Syronikir
The ancient language of the Selefer , Ethonic , was already mostly deciphered for quite some time. The current alphabet of many of the current languages of Avak'am is the same as the one used by the Selefer. Given the similarities with the languages of the region in the current time, it was not an impossible undertaking.   However, nobody knew how the language was pronounced. This all changed when an expedition of the Keepers found the Vaskar ruins.

History

Discovery

The Vaskar ruins were discovered in 1104 AE by a group of explorers send by the Keepers. The Keepers themselves have quite an extensive amount of historic records available in their great library in Adroon. They often use as a guide to make assumptions about possible ruin locations. By using the records describing a large religious complex the explorers were able to find the Vaskar Ruins after many years of searching.

Murals

The religious complex seemed very intact and many of the murals even had their writing and sometimes even colors intact. To the suprise of the explorers the writing on the wall lit up after touching the mural. Shortly after a Selefer voice could be heard through the empty halls.   Eventually the explorers figured out that the voice was reading the writing of the murals and they quickly send word to get a larger group to the ruins. After some extensive research the phonetics of the Ethonic language were finally deciphered.

Translation

Once our god ruled from the sun   Controlling its fire and bringing life   But the evil gods grew jealous and removed him from the celestial throne   Now he wanders across the realms of fire waiting for revenge   He looked at Niorath and chose the Selefer as his eternal champions   All who follow the path he creates will join him in his realm   A realm of fire   A realm of light   A realm for the strong   Devote yourself and join with fire   For it will never hurt   When fire comes only the Selefer will not burn   They are one, they are true, they are children of the sun   So prepare yourself   Open the gates with the celestial keys   Go through to join Athos in his realm   We will persevere   We will win   We will reconquer the sun

Nice work, and your images are gorgeous! I couldn't see credits; did you do them? Love the concept of walls reciting.
