Instructions on the Construction of Golems, by Golems

When the Kimbur golems were corrupted by Helenaphe's arrival and became rampaging beasts, it was thought all was lost for the entire Kimbur civlization. However the Keggri Kimbur of the northwest foresaw certain aspects of their doom and set about preparing instructions for the restoration of their species.   Deep in the laboratory caverns of Mukal Yaun, instructions for the construction of golems were etched into nineteen stone tablets. The golems prescribed were designed to work in the new flow of time introduced by the gods and would have memories of their forebearers and the civilazation. After the completion of the tablets, the Keggri Kimbur golems left Mukal Yaun and submitted to the violent madnes.

The Golems Restored

Mukal Yaun was rediscovered in 1820 by Manatza explorers but the tablets were not deciphered until 80 years later. Finally, in 2203, the sorcerer Poe Gellard performed the ancient ritual and built anew the Kimbur golems from the stone of their own home. The golems, alas, saw Poe as an intruder and drove him from their land where they proceeded to build more of their kin and restore their nation that was lost.

Nineteen Stone Tablets

The instructions listed on the tablets look daunting but in reality are simple tasks made seemingly onerous by the complex Keggri language. Tablets 2-9 and 11-15 describe tasks such as gathering clay and loam, measuring each to precise quantities, and adding various amounts of water depending on the time of the year.   The other tablets indicate spells and mantras for Binding the raw materials to the proper form. And the most complex spell, spread across tablets 1,10,17, and 19, is what grants the newly formed golems their Kimbur kinship. From these four tablets, sorcerers and scientists have reversed engineered the procedure for allying golems to any organization or faction. This had catastrophic consequences in the civil wars of Aposfabr in the early decades of the 25th century where golems allied to either side decimated the opposition without mercy. Since that series of conflicts, golems have fallen out of use as machines of war.
