Temporal Dissociative Syndrome

Temporal Dissociative Syndrome (TDS) is a nasty sideeffect of the abuse of pentaplethylamine, a medication used for anesthesia, asthma, seizures and pain management. However is also used as a recreational drug for inducing a trance-like state and it's hallucinogenic and dissociative effects.

Causes

Temporal Dissociative Syndrome is a consequence of recreational consume of high dosages of pentaplethylamine (streetnames include 'Fluff', 'Tranquil' and 'Cloud') and occurs generally four to twelve hours after the initial intoxication peak subsides.

Symptoms

Temporal Dissociative Syndrome lasts from three days to two weeks during which a person suffers from diminished cognitive functions, diminished emotional capacity, impaired awareness, dissociacion and a feeling of dullness. Short term memory and the formation of memories of affected persons durring this time frame is severely hampered, leading to memory gaps and in severe cases memory loss of the entire duration of the condition.   Durring a Temporal Dissociative Syndrome, acute episodes characterized by intense confusion, depersonalization and anxiety may manifest at random times and varying intesity, lasting anywhere from minuites to multiple hours. However such episodes can also be induced by stress and fear. Depending on dosage auditory and visual hallucinations, generally described to be of unplesant nature, vertigo and paranoia can also occur durring an acute episode. Among users of pentaplethylamine such episodes are chcolloquially refered to as 'zoneing'.   In severe cases, which usually are the result of high dosages and generally last longer than a week, mild hallucinations, both auditory and visual can occur outside of acute episodes and acompany the entirety of the condition.

Prognosis

Prolonged abuse of pentaplethylamine and the resulting continued states of one or multiple Temporal Dissociative Syndrome(s) can lead to the onset of a variety of dissociative disorders, such as dissociative amnesia and depersonalization disorder. The latter being more common.
