Healing Dummies

As magic became widespread through Malderia, its use in medical practice was always in view. From healing spells, to protective magic, to potions, and so on, medicine has always been in the eye of the enchanter.   However, most healing magics are divine in nature. The arcane can usually do no more than twist life, causing unholy and irreversible changes when applied directly. That said, the tools used by medical practitioners can be enchanted.   One of the earliest examples of this is the healing dummy. It is an ancient and crude method, but it has been slowly perfected over time to maximum efficiency. The base of it is that it will connect a Seiguen to a smaller dummy, causing the dummy's flesh to resemble that of the Seiguen, scar for scar, tear for tear. The closer the dummy resembles the actual Seiguen's anatomy, the more effective the process will be.   While this type of technology cannot magically cause the wounds of the patient to heal, it can cause the flesh of the patient to move in a similar way to that of the dummy. As such, if one stitches a wound on the dummy, the flesh of the connected patient will move in a similar way without requiring such large and expensive amounts of surgical materials.   As you can imagine, this is mostly useful for surface wounds. It's extremely difficult to create an anatomically correct dummy in order to operate on a Seiguen's insides, but it's extremely easy to take some common thread and needles and stitch a dummy's skin so a connected patient can heal more cheaply and easily.   Of course, hiring an actual, practiced surgeon with actual medical gear and real stitches cannot be matched in this way, but it has lowered the average cost of operating across the country without many more side effects than a few crooked scars and overlapping skin flaps which to most are, let's face it, super sexy symbols of strength.   Just take care to sedate the patient before using these dummies. One would not want to move part of the dummy while the patient is trying to use said part, after all. Imagine trying to move your arm while a strong magical force moves it in the opposite direction. This is a situation a few torn-tendoned Seiguen can picture quite vividly.

Stitches by proxy--it's so creative and I love it! May I ask what inspired the idea?
