SPC-CA Condition in Life Under Four Suns | World Anvil

SPC-CA

Spatial Pulmonary Crystalisis w/out Cardiac Arrest

An often deadly, though rare, ailment afflicting various species. Heart tissue becomes distorted by tachyon particles interacting with chemicals in the prescription drug Monoelauzyme-12 Thaarran, commonly referred to as Thaarran. Thaarran is used to treat several common ailments, such as Space Sickness and conditions related to life in lower gravity.

How do I contract SPC-CA
The entirely random convergence of tachyon particles with the Thaarran molecule while interacting with oxygen in the heart of someone taking the common drug, Monoelauzyme-12 Thaarran. The chance of developing this condition is 1 in 12.7 billion.

We thought it was a powerful cure-all. We weren't ready for the unfortunate side effects.

How can I know if I or a loved one have suffered from SPC-CA?
Sudden chest pain, discoloration of the skin, numbness, loss of appetite, nausea, headache, blurred vision, death, difficulty breathing, and bloating are all symptoms of SPC-CA. Death is present in 100% of cases of SPC-CA.

Isn't Thaarran used as a cryogenic agent for preserving bodies for funerals?
The chemical Thaarran-NRP-Hydroxilline is indeed used for cryogenic purposes, but Thaarran itself, especially in as low a dose as is present in the maximum 10mg dose prescribed by doctors, is not harmful to most except for those with rare, underlying conditions, or the even rarer tachyon convergence.

Is it true that Monoelauzyme-12 Thaarran can be further processed into the illicit drug Crimson Daydream?
We at PetrINC can neither confirm nor deny that Crimson Daydream can be made from any of our drugs. We must insist that the illegal and criminal usage of our drugs be punished to the full extent prescribed by law.

I really like how you've written this like an FAQ pamphlet you'd find at a doctor's office. :)
