The White Bands

The White Bands are a mysterious religious order of individuals committed to justice and maintaining the balance of strong and weak on the Material Plane. The Bands believe in never taking a life, resorting only to nonlethal measures when apprehending an offender. The White Bands are a specific sect under the Temple of the Lawbinder, Erathis. While the Steward of Law does not particularly agree with the actions of the White Bands, they have proven benevolent in many situations, hunting down evil beings and bringing them to justice. It is easy to determine when one is a member of the White Bands, as they are often wearing something with a symbolic white circle. Most often this is a white-gold band around their arm, a grey tabard with a white circle, or even a band around their head. The White Bands, for the most part, stay out of world affairs and major events.   The most common intervention of the White Bands is when one who has been charged with protecting the weak, such as an adventurer turns rogue and begins killing indiscriminately. When someone has done this, the White Bands make notice that the offender has been "Marked." This begins with a White Band Subduer being dispatched with several Soldiers to assist in the arrest. If a Subduer is either incapacitated or even in some cases themselves murdered, the Mark is escalated.   The second stage of being "Marked" is that several Subduers and White Band Mages are dispatched once more to apprehend. If they are defeated, the White Bands will dispatch one of the Leaders. Stage three requires the direct intervention of one of the following leaders (Or more if any leader is defeated):
Siegrana, Terror of the Mount
A frost giant who hails from a mountain demiplane. For a Frost Giant, Siegrana is quite good-natured, and always gives opponents the chance to arm themselves upon meeting her. She is also the only member of the White Bands who is on record for wielding and using a lethal weapon.
Boon Mage Vetan & Arvia the Hurricane
This duo is one of the most feared units in the White Bands, when one is dispatched this is enough for any to notice, when both are spotted in the same locale it's obvious just how far someone has gone to earn the ire of the White Bands. Vetan is a tall woman with olive skin and grey-brown hair. She was born on an island cursed in the Demiplane of Dread, Ravenloft. All members of the island were forced to wear the same face, no one could feel unique or different, anyone who attempted to change quickly disappeared or caused a ripple effect harming all inhabitents. Vetan has strived for her whole life to stand out, to be noticed, which to her dismay is the opposite of her key feature, which is being able to blend in easily to any situation.   Arvia the Hurricane is a veteran warrior hailing from Barovia, one of the other planes inside Ravenloft. Arvia's weapon of choice is a bone-white enchanted mace with the open eye of a saint on the end. He has ensured that the enchantments make it impossible for his mace to ever kill a living thing. Arvia is one of the most zealously devoted to Erathis and the White Bands' cause, hoping to end all injustice.
Calavast Worldshaper
The Worldshaper is one of the most keen minds in the White Bands. As a youngling of the age of 16, he mastered Planar Travel. Taking advantage of the slowed time that exists in the Astral Sea, he studied the fabric of reality for decades, becoming a master wizard. The classical style of spellcasting has been long lost to him, he now commands reality and bends it to suit his needs. During his travels, he was attacked by a host of Mind Flayers, with death certain he readied for the end until he was saved by Melor, and the two have been unbreakable ever since. Should all of the White Bands' Lieutenants be defeated, the Mark becomes full in which the symbol on the White Bands' Ledgers becomes a white circle with five additional links to the primary, and the Leader is summoned.
Melor the Undying
Melor was the first scion, the founder, the creator of the White Bands. When Erathis was first asserting her dominion over the portfolio of Law, she came upon Melor. The Undying was born as a half-fey half-elf and lived deep in the Feywild. His entire life was governed by the fear of old age taking him. Even with the absurd lifespan that he would enjoy, it constantly tugged at the back of his mind. When Erathis and Melor met, the deity's first command to him was simple, yet carried so much: "Do not die." Even Erathis had no idea of just how powerful that command would become. Melor has died in an uncountable number of ways. No matter how vicious, how precise, how little is left of him, Melor's soul is anchored and his body reknits itself. Melor is fiercely loyal, and will not give up until the end. In this case, the only way he could meet his end if he was to ever be cast from Erathis' grace.

Structure

Council of White - The Council decides on all matters, determines who is to be "Marked" and decides when the "Mark" must be escalated. The Council is led by Melor and he delegates all required tasks to his Lieutenants.    White Band Subduers and Mages - Act as the Sergeants of the White Bands. Have the capability to issue orders to White Band soldiers in the field.    White Band Soldiers - Fully initiated members, take orders from Subduers and Mages, and often report directly to a Quartermaster as a "Handler" when working abroad to observe any activity.
