"Drugamal Mind Tap" Syndrome

"Drugamal Mind Tap" Syndrome is the result of overdosing on a specially prepared oil from a common root plant found in the Drugumal Trench between the South Western Islands of the Gacu Isles. "Drugamal Mind Tap" Syndrome commonly occurs from the imbiber overdosing from this otherwise beneficial oil. At the point "Drugamal Mind Tap" Syndrome sets in the imbiber may experience psychosis including visual/auditory hallucinations of those around them and enter a hyper-paranoid state of mind which generally leads to increased aggression and recklessness for ones own safety.

Origins

The Drugamal root or “Mind Root” is a hardy plant that is found in clusters growing beneath flora across the world in all manner of climates where plants may grow. It was originally found in the Drugamal Trench, it has the moniker “Mind Root” for two reasons the effects it has on the imbiber and from it’s appearance for it’s root to look like a brainstem. This root plant acts as an invasive parasite of sorts by grafting itself onto other plants' root systems to share nutrients and extract other compounds from the plants or surrounding area.

Identification and Preparation

The Mind Root can be found by looking for its peculiar bright orange bloom with flowering bud resting atop. It can mostly be found sprouts from the shaded sides of trees, large plants or other root systems. It is parasitic to the host plant and has a star shaped silohuette with an arrangement of brightly colored leaves topped by a sweet smelling cluster of buds.
The buds themselves have a light sweet aroma and taste, this has made it an exotic sweetener for many Cnistari dishes, fortunately for the recipients of such dishes the nuerological effects are almost intangible. Instead it gives a slight "buzz" when consumed in reasonable quantity. The roots themselves when extracted and pressed create an oily substance that has a warm, sweet, somewhat citrusy flavor with a distinct bitterness. This oil is what can produce the significantly stronger nuerological effects noted below.

Imbibed Effects

Small dosage effects, the imbiber feels intoxicated much like caffeinated alcohol, granting them a sense of clarity, reduced inhibition and energy for a short period of time. When it wears off fatigue sets in fairly quickly and prolonged use can lead to addiction and physical dependence.
Moderate dosage effects, the imbiber has a short but intense sense of calm and almost reckless ignorance to the world around them in a euphoric state.
Overdose effects, the imbiber moves from the euphoric state into a paranoid state with the sense of recklessness from a sense of immortality generally resulting in escalating aggression where the imbibers tend to lash out at those around them for perceived slights, conspiracies or other controversies within their minds perception of those around them.

Researchers Note:

Cnistari legend claims with enough tolerance, proper state of mind and perfect dosage the user can commune with the “Gods of Ur” as the more eccentric of the Cnistari claim. While there is currently no evidence to support this claim the root oil does have several benefits when properly used to avoid Drugamal Mind Tap Syndrome. Some uses range from mundane celebratory narcotic to combat enhancements but mostly for medicinal purposes for a variety of ailments.
