Reclamation Training

The history of conflict between the kingdom and Orcish peoples in the past has left a lingering impression among many that Orcs are warriors by nature. The ritualized displays of strength and intimidation still practiced by Orcs today are commonly misunderstood to mean that brutality is valued above all else in an individual, and that there is very little room for weakness.   While it is true that strength is a very important virtue in Orcish culture, not many in the general populace know that the focus lies much more on each individual realizing their own full potential than comparing and competing with the strength of others. The true power of Orcish culture has always lied with their cooperation, and how they deal with "strength" and "weakness" is no different.   Instead of leaving an ailing or aging comrade behind, it is the Orcish way to instead laugh in the face of nature for trying and failing to keep them down. Most would be surprised to know that the new trends in rehabilitative therapy, prosthetics, and strength training that have recently been appearing in the most progressive urban centers are of Orcish design.
Discovery
The closest translation of what they call this therapeutic tradition is "reclamation training," referring to reclaiming either strength that has been lost or stolen, or reclaiming the personal power that an inherent disability has been taking from them. Helping an elder with exercises to ease painful joints, using resistance training to rebuild muscle after healing from an injury, or building a false limb for someone who wants to walk but was born missing a leg, all fall under the umbrella of reclamation training, and have been practiced among Orc kind for centuries.   It is only after those of Orcish descent have become more accepted and trusted in the kingdom that this tradition is finally being acknowledged and picked up by outsiders.
