The Ruins in South Brinland

Near the northern border of South Brinland lies the ruins of a long destroyed castle. It is a popular tourist site, one that people often visit while staying in the nearby town of [@city name]. The most popular demographic for this is, of course, romantically involved couples.   Why? The myth around these ruins is one of true, unconditional love and selflessness.   The story is told that long ago, long before the empire was founded, before Galt had landed in the center of Qey, South Brinland and Brinland were one country. Civil war sparked between the citizens within the country (see article [@The History of Brinland]), and they found themselves divided. There was a long, terrible period of war where nobody could make much headway towards a solution. It was long enough that deep-seated hate towards the 'other side' settled into the culture.   With hate comes loves. While most of the citizens of Brinland looked upon each other with vitriol, where families and couples and friends were divided by their stance, there were those who decided to love each other despite their differences. Perhaps the common folk could get away with it by hiding their opinions or keeping under the radar, but for a noble family, loving someone from the other side was treason.   Enter in the daughter of a nobleman from the north, and the daughter of a nobleman from the south. They fell in love throughout their years of running into each other and, despite the war and knowing their families would be furious if they ever found out, they kept up correspondence.   Eventually, the heat of the war was too much for both of them, and their feigned support for 'their side' was becoming too tedious of a front to keep up. The northerner begged her love in the south to escape up to the north, where she knew of an abandoned piece of land with a forgotten castle that no one would be able to find.   And, thus, that is how it came to pass. They eloped to their hiding place, abandoning their families with no explanations or any hints as where to find them. They spent the rest of their lives in that castle, becoming so self-sustaining that they had no need to visit any of the towns. They had disappeared without a trace and without any public appearances later.   The grand mystery of the two noblemens' disappearing daughters was solved many years later, when a nearby town was being established and expanded and the castle was rediscovered. The bodies of the lovers were found resting together on a blanket in the middle of a large room, entwined skeletons and bones, a sense of unbreakable love surrounding their resting place.   Since the discovery, the castle has been preserved in its ruined condition and turned into a tourist attraction for couples that come from all around the world. It is a symbol not only of undying love, but that all love is acceptable, no matter sexuality or political alignment, and that despite all circumstances, love can prevail.
