Icono Dancing
Icono is a form of dance where a dancer dances with an inanimate object such as a broom or coat, and may be observed in many a House of the Public on a late and drunken night.
History
It is widely believed that there was once a beautiful woman in the countryside who was fed up with constantly being asked by local men for a dance, and, being a seamstress by profession, brought a fully-dressed mannequin with her to dance with to deter the other men.
This popular story quickly spread by word of mouth, and many made fun of it and copied it, giving rise to this rather unusual but beloved form of dance.
The unique challenges that arise from an unresponsive dancing partner have lead to groups of like-minded dancers forming in Penchester, all with the intention of practicing dancing with bad dancers and to show their skill in dancing.
It has also lead to the now common colloquial phrase 'to dance for two'.
