The Eternal Storm Realm Myth in Gaia | World Anvil

The Eternal Storm Realm

The realm that is called the Eternal Storm is a mysterious weather phenomenon that occurs off the Southeastern coast of Gateway. It is highly entwined with Ician mythology as the storm has been brewing off the coast since they became a capable race. Mythology refers to gods that have been disappointed by violence and have retreated into this swirling mass of blizzard-like conditions to isolate themselves from their children, in which they are upset in.   The legends explain that a massive creature has crafted this storm to both punish and isolate themselves from the people they once wished to help. A lot of people blame this on the Etrovan Orthodoxy's rise to power in Gateway's antiquity. The legend is of course fabricated by the church of Etrova to make the Ician beastfolk look bad. the only thing keeping the two from conflict is the Czar of Etrova issuing a command to his nation to not engage in a pointless war. However there were clashes of extremism groups on both sides to this day.   One day, if these hostilities end, maybe the storm will dissipate and the god who shielded themselves from this violence may return. Of course the facts and this myth are the basis of arguments within Modern Gaia. Some of the more isolated tribes and people may follow the myth as the more modernized and connected people see it for what has been recorded in more recent years. Interesting enough, there has been some ties to the myth and the real reason why the Eternal Storm had been manifested. The only difference is the type of people who had wronged the creatures behind the storms. The only issue is to actually prove this theory, which to this day has been impossible.
