The orb of Aram Item in Eodora | World Anvil

The orb of Aram

In the Age of Conflict, during The Slithering Strife, it was Nagoth who, in his weakened state, had managed to corrupt the hearts and minds of the people of Quroth. In his employ was the dreaded necromancer Aram who had fallen deeply for the promises made by Nagoth.   Unbeknownst to the elves of Iyl Enore he used the Font of Tannyll to draw enough wyrd out of the area and poured it all within a single spherical shape. The process of creation took a heavy toll on both the physical side of Aram, along with his mental state. The orb itself amplified his magical abilities, and the continued use of the orb caused his sanity to erode even further until he thought it would be a good idea to challenge one of the gods themselves. With the amplification of the Spark of Divinity which was incorporated in the creation of the item, he managed to sneak into The Husk Fields and channel the vile energy of the orb to corrupt The evening star.   The full extend of the powers of the orb have not been discovered. Those who would use the orb would find their control over the magic around them to have increased and are able to channel more of the wyrd around them as they weave their spells. those who try to incorporate too much energy within their spells find it to cause an arcane mishap and energies roam freely, causing seemingly random effects as the magic takes shape on its own.   After the fall of Aram and the downfall of the evening star, the orb has been sealed away as no way was discovered to reverse its power or use it without a heavy cost.
