Devobraü (devv-oh-brow)

Devobraü is a thick, brown liquid medicine made from an assortment of different tree saps, an assortment of mineral compounds including trace amounts of silver, and wilted bloom rose roots that is used in the treatment of ailments that rewrite a creature's DNA to combat its effects and keep it from progressing further.    The liquid is thick and unpleasant, tasting chalky and metallic from the materials used within. The quantity required to be taken to prevent the spread varies based on how far it's already progressed. If caught in the early stages of transformation, 100ml a week could suffice, whereas someone nearing the end of genetic reconstruction would need close to a litre. This is because of the nature of the concoction; its composition essentially tricks the invading cells to prioritise it over the host, and the further along the condition is, the more aggressive cells are present and the faster it can fully "infect" the medicine and go back to the host's body.   Following the Daemonic Incursion, many attempts were made to find a cure or means to revert the corrupting and manipulative effects the daemons had wrought. Whilst no successful tinctures were developed that successfully undid the changes once they were complete, devobraü was successful in preventing further spread.    It's not an ideal solution as it's not a cure on its own, as the means to alter DNA in such a way is already incredibly potent and wilted bloom rose components themselves are expensive, but it can serve as a good stopgap to allow one to get their affairs in order or prepare appropriately for their fate, or should they be rich enough sustain themselves indefinitely. Certain conditions such as lycanthropy have had cures developed that can work on those who haven't fully been transformed as their own separate medicines, though equally time consuming and expensive to make, and being more specialised are required to be brewed specially compared to the more general devobraü.
