The Garden of Gloriosa (The Gar-den of Glor-E-oh-suh)

"Only the Fae could take a garden and turn it into something so morally ugly." - Octavia Freesong
By outsider standards, this marvel of a Garden is the apex of beauty. Bordered by towering trees of red and silver, the garden is shaped to flow with the land. Flowers grow in sections, tended by the most skilled hands of the Fae courts to cull, preen, and maintain the plants within. Many rare species can be found here, including rare medicinal herbs and poisons. Pathways mark the borders of the garden patches, lined with twisting root or meticulously placed stone at the edges. The paths are smooth and well worn, showcasing the lush soil that supports the gardens. Each corner sports a tree no taller than a man can reach that bloom year round with pale blue flowers. These trees grow at intervals that take standing back to find the pattern. The half point between two corners, then the half points between the middle tree and corners, and so on until the entire path way is lined with these trees.  At night, these flowers glow, shedding light for guests.   At the center of this complex garden lies a ring of silver boughed trees with pale white leaves, dubbed Gloriosa. Various vined plants twist up these magnificent spires, inter weaving between them to create a curtain effect. The ground slopes gently, stairs etched into the cardinal points toward the center, where it is flat. The sun shines down in full force in the center of this ring. Young trees and thick boughed vines woven together create a ring of seats descending toward the center, like a gallery in a court room. In the center, at the north east cardinal point, a woven throne resides with a stone carved podium before it, known as the Arbiter's Throne.

Purpose / Function

The garden itself serves as a collection of plants the Fae kingdom has collected and cultivated. Seeds are collected each year and stored, marking the year and date they were gathered on clay pots. These seeds are stored away somewhere within the gardens, to one day be given as gifts to allies or enemies, as well as restore the plant if it is lost to the world.

Alterations

The slopes within the center once housed the seed storage. But as the collection grew, the fae were forced to find other accommodations. The ring was converted to a judicial arena, thought fit since the ring of trees that stood there for as long as any could remember represent Justice.
