The Follower

Observing the stars at night, one will notice that they are constantly changig. No night sky matches the one before aside from one object, the Follower. This body seems to stay with Ekkirah, circling it patiently along their journey through the universe.   Countless scholars have studied this curious companion and it seems as if it changes its speed and angle from time to time, seemingly at random. Sometimes it's even stopping, before continuing its course hours later. It is yet unclear what this body is made out of, as its random behavior creates massive challenges when observing it. The only consistant movement it shows is the approach. Every 3 months, the Follower will get closer to Ekkirah, almost halving it's distance, before it stops, keeping close for 3 weeks before drifting further away again.   Culturally, each region has its own interpretation what these different behaviors mean.   In the kingdom of Red, seeing the Follower being very close or staying in one place signifies that there is an important battle being fought. Should it be observed coming closer, the inhabitants of this monarchy believe, that an immensly strong warrior is being born.   In the Kingdom of Yoshi, most inhabitants are not religious or spiritiual. Superstition however is everpresent, even in this very science focused kingdom. Some believe, that the seeing the Follower getting closer is a sign of bad luck. Some will not set sail, should this body be too close. While seeing it drift further away, is a call to explore, to set off into the world and see what is out there.   In the kingdom of Tai, the clergy views the Follower as a messager of the gods. Its movements are to be interepreted as divine signs and guidances. Should it approach, it's viewed as the patheon observing the believers faiths, watching them pray and engaging in rituals. When it drifts away again, it's a sign of the gods being pleased with what they have observed.
