Battle of Red Waters

300 years ago, as the gods fell and civilizations crumbled from within, rebellions and civil unrest grew all around the globe. However, it was in the territory that now belongs to the Tribes of Jadia that governments weakened the most. Aggravated by famine and drought, the people of the land soon saw no use for their leaders. In every city, revolts only grew more violent, always on the brink of a proper coup.
Then, on the morning of the first day of Keiran, the metaphorical powder keg that was Ethana  exploded. Waves of civilian militias stormed the keeps and castles of important leaders. Killed or exiled, the nobility of Ethana disappeared in 36 hours. It is said that monarchs killed in the revolution were thrown in the sea, thus refusing them a proper burial, and that the sea became red with their blood for the next year.

The Conflict

Prelude

From the start of the Age of Demise, political and civil unrest had been a constant in Ethana. The old nation was known for its piety and relationship to divinity, and the loss and such relationship had it crumbling before its citizens' very eyes. The revolution itself came as no surprise, although it was its unspeakable violence that shook the world to its core.

Outcome

Chaos proper as the cities were left without supervision or official authority. Death of Ethana as an actual Empire.

Aftermath

Reorganization into smaller factions and subgroups ; birth of what would become known as the Tribes of Jadia.
Decentralization of power and life: cities were mostly left inhabited, except for small communities and mercantile business.

Historical Significance

Legacy

To this day, the Battle of Red Waters serves as a precautionary tale for any leader, inside and outside of Jadia. Apart from a few monuments erected in remembrance, the socio-political shift that the area has seen in the last centuries makes the event mostly irrelevant for everyday folks.
