Spider silk is only worn by the richest and powerful people of the state. This is because farming and breeding Silk Spiders is very dangerous. The spider might start looking at its farmer as food. The risk of being eaten is very high which adds to the overall price.

Material Characteristics
Spider silk is woven spider threads into a wearable cloth. The spider threads that are normally used are from the big Silk Spiders that can be found on Dolwen. When the cloth is woven into silk the cloth looks like purple with a slight glow to it. The silk is soft to the touch and comfortable.

Spider silk can be very flammable just like any other cloth or fabric.

Spider Silk is commonly used to make clothes. It is can also be used to make cloaks.
Cultural Significance and Usage
Only rich elves (and people) can buy spider silk. It is very pricy and almost impossible to get. If you are wearing spider silk it shows that you are wealthy and put together.

The silk is bought and sold in Dark Elven market places and dress shops. The silk can only be found in the stores that are in the richest part of town. The silk is also exported from Dolwen to other places. The exported silk is even more rare and hard to buy.
