Historical Details

Public Reaction

The letter is said to have warmed the hearts of the Re Thrye and they are said to have allowed him into the city, something no other foreigner was allowed to do. This letter was said to be so moving that an Almet Ask is a common expression used to ask and argue for a large but beneficial favor.

Apocrypha Reaction

There is another interpretation of the public reaction to the letter that is only whispered about in scholarly circles, because it has ended careers and is considered heretical. Some scholars have argued that the Re Thrye were inclined to kill Deemor for daring to ask, but it was only for the rising power of Neerse Vimtoric that the Re Thrye allowed Deemor into the city. The scholars further argue that the Re Thrye was not swayed by Deemors arguments, but only accepted Gran Saminism becuase Deemor flattered and befriended Neerse Vimtoric.
