Letter to the Princess

My dear Princess,
I'm sorry I've been away. If you miss our daily meetings even half as much as I have, then guilt weighs heavily upon me for denying you them for so long. I know I was only supposed to be gone for two moons, and it has been nearly twice that. I swear it is through no desire to be away from you. My original path to Vidaliin deviated when I was invited to C'Oros Diin by the herbalist I was sent to meet. I almost refused, knowing you would worry at my lengthy absence. But I could not pass up such an opportunity. For that I apologize, as I put my own pleasure ahead of yours.
I promise I will be home soon. I am currently in Duvila, waiting out a storm that crossed my path. Should no further delays occur, I will be back in Araniae tomorrow. I promise to make up for my long absence at our next meeting. I have a gift for you, one which I hope you will cherish for the rest of your years, even if the future we've talked about never comes to be.
My beloved, if you still wish to meet, I will be in the usual place at dusk tomorrow. When I close my eyes tonight, it will be your beautiful face that I dream of.

Alexar Kithraen

This letter from Alexar Kithraen was sent to Princess Taliah Calistri shortly before he presented her with a precious almenvâhn sapling. The sapling was planted in a private alcove in the Sky Garden, where it amazingly flourished. No almenvâhn had ever been successfully cultivated outside of the Enchanted Wood, and it is said that it was Alexar's love and devotion to the princess that made it thrive. The letter was found among Queen Taliah's private things after her death and is now preserved in Araniae's Hall of Records as a document of historical significance.
