Failed Kidnapping of Valeska

One of the PCs is the daughter of the lord, and their city is under siege, so some of the lesser nobles kidnapped her with the hopes of getting her through the walls and to give to one of the factions outside of the walls as a bargaining chip so the siege would end.
During the Siege of Felkhath, there was a stand-off between the Arle of Felkhath, the Capitolist Faction, and Ostufer's Faction regarding the Arle's allegiances in the Civil War. Members of the Arle's court grew concerned the siege could only be ended if one of the two factions had a clear advantage over Arle Nunciel Great-Cook and could force him to open the gates.
Lord Alrec, a minor Lord within Great-Cook's court, arranged with some servants and guards to place the Lady Valeska under the influence of sleeping draught and to kidnap her the second night after her return to her home. The plan was to keep her unexpectedly capable companions occupied as a distraction while the traitors completed a dig through the walls. Pigs fed with a combination of food items that would cause them to bloat and release an explosive flamable gas if not treated were brought under ground and being prepared for a more explosive end to assist the wall-sapping efforts.
Alrec already had a former escape route through the city, but it had been sealed after the Unification Wars when Magnus the Red-Eyed broke into the city, resulting in the escape route being a known security risk if not sealed.
Valeksa was eventually found by her companions with the help of City Guard Rifre of Felkhath, the sapping attempt was halted, and Valeska was put in a difficult situation in regards to a treasonous guard during a wartime situation.
Word spread within the city of Valeska's dislike for the old traditional punishments for treason (the rack, or execution), and of her mercy in executing the man while Lord Alrec was disgraced and executed for his role as the mastermind behind the kidnapping
