Prompt 26: Rift Gates

Rift Gates are the dark secret of all the races. Many would love to destroy these things so they could never see the light of day. Though most are too fearful of what could happen if one was destroyed. How could you contain all that power and what happens if you end yo opening a rift?

Rift Gates are special device older than the Lazari. Some even believe they are connected to the myth of the first civilization. What is known is that they connect different realms of realities together and allow passage to these other realms. Though they haven't been used since the time of the Lazari out of fear of what they could unleash.

Utility

How to Use: By using a rift key you can activate the rift gate, allowing you to traverse to other realms of reality.
Why it was created: Legend says it was created to allow the races of the many realms to travel and explore the creator's great creation.
The Great Shattering: Sadly so many of these gates being active in one realm caused it to shatter apart. Bringing forth the great void that would destroy all things.

It is believed to be created by the Great Traveler who created it for others to traverse reality as they can.

Access & Availability

Rift Gates have been sealed and protected ever since the fall of the Lazari. Their keys either destroyed or hidden so no one would dare to activate them.

Complexity

It is made from an unknown metal that seems to pull in dimensional energy. Having strange runes upon it that act as a way to transfer the energy all over the device.

Discovery

No one knows who created them or how they were made. All that is known that the Lazari found them already built from the realms they once called home. They came through and only learned more about them when they met the man named Zadi.
