The Broken Covenant

The Broken Covenant are a sect of the Church of Kaladis, who serve as inquisitors and enforcers of laws, contracts, and help to bring egregious lawbreakers to justice. Operating outside the laws of men and outside the hierarchy of the church, the Broken Covenant are a secretive group, held only to the contracts signed for their service and Kaladis himself.

Structure

The Broken Covenant is a decentralized organization. While they are, ostensibly, held under the auspices of the Judiciary, they operate independently throughout Omath. Rare is a contract sent to a member of the Broken Covenant from the church itself, and some of the inquisitors within its ranks have claimed to receive guidance to a case from Kaladis himself.

Culture

A reclusive organization, the Broken Covenant maintains a culture of secrecy and mystery. The Broken Covenant maintains a strict adherence to law and the letter of contracts. While they are exempted from the laws of whatever nation they are in by virtue of their position, members of the Broken Covenant typically abide by them unless their mission contractors those laws.

Public Agenda

The Broken Covenant seeks to remedy violations of contract or law through whatever means are authorized under the contract signed to retain their services.

The word of law, the binding of the contract, is all. To diverge from the sacred Binding is to invite the judgment of Kaladis and the blade of the Broken Covenant.

Ethics

The law of Kaladis is the arbiter of existence. Adherence to the laws of men comes only at the grace of the Binder.
