Pivo Dwarves Ethnicity in Buckle Your Belt | World Anvil

Pivo Dwarves

Pivo dwarves are a small settlement of asteroid miners in the Cuivienen asteroid belt. Having the seemingly genetic liking for spirits and ales, they have developed a highly sought after variety of beer using water from frozen asteroids and hops grown in domes on some of the larger rocks in the system.   They have grown their cultural system to diversify, so while they also mine typical minerals from their part of the system, they are known throughout the galaxy for the fine beer that they produce. They are also known for the daily "happy hour" and the seasonal parties that they sponsor in the system and in a few select other places where their beer is regularly available via export.   While their daily dress is fairly standard, during parties and other special occasions they will don brightly colored clothing. The pants will usually be a solid color depicting which family or rock they derive from and the shirts will be white with bright colors depicting plants and fruits of various kinds.  Females will wear multi-layered hoop skirts.  Vests also appear at certain functions and may be decorated with ribbon, sequence, or embroidered grape vines.  Smooth and black polished leather boots are common for males and females, with tassels hung from near the top of the boot shaft for males.   Since they have inhabited their rocks since before the gap, no one is certain what the cultural significance is of their heritage, nor of their predilection to produce their award winning beer. Pivo Dwarves provide the only beer served at the Star & Dragon Yacht Club Facilities Building. This has been ensured by the regular weekly delivery for a couple of centuries. Anyone who asks for a different beer is usually scoffed at, booed, or on occasion has been escorted off the premises.
