Kai Dīnanil

In the Eastern Principalities, the constallation of Kai Dīnanil /kaɪ.liːˈnɒɲɪl/, The Corruptor, takes the form of a serpentine dragon exhaling a cloud of conrruption across the sky. The cloud frequently separates constallations that would nominally be joined or appear together, such as the god of nature and a tree.

History

Kai Dīnanil is the name given to Árak by the Kaushan people. They found him in the stars as a constellation resembling a serpentine dragon with an open mouth. In the early stories, Kai Dīnanlil is credited with separating essential pairings from one another. Thus, the mouth of the constellation opens upon the hazy band of light in the night sky the Kausan call the Cloud of Corruption.   According to legend, It is against Kai Dīnanil that Shania vin Qau fought when she created the Eastern Principalities from the the Kingdom of Kiŗaun when her husband died. Kai Dīnanil actively turned her sons and grandsons against one another, preventing a peacful succession of the crown. if not for the wise coucil of her brother Nautīr Ptor and Shani's own steadfastness, the kingdom would likely have fallen into civil war.   Since that time, the people of the Eastern Pricipalities often consult the stars to help ensure that Kai Dīnanil does not disrupt important events.
