In her quest for having several magic nullifcation cages, Tinaul qī Narat began sending worker to mine joto crystals. While she loves sowing chaos, she could not afford to keep replacing workers, so she paused mining until she could work out a cure, or at least preventative measures.

Causes

Joto crystals tend to occur in areas with high concentrations of radioactive materials, such as uranium. This causes radioactive exposure and the onset of radiation poisoning.

Symptoms

Early symptoms (within a day or two of exposure) include nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. The effects grow rapidly to include reduced healing (wounds don't clot or otherwise heal), redness of the skin, persistent headaches, skin lesions, hair loss, and usually death. See symptoms of radiation sickness.

Treatment

Tinaul qī Narat worked with Ptinar naqī Vinītau to develop a cure, as well as basic preventative measures.   Ptinar was able to develop a magical process which repairs cells damaged by radiation, reversing the otherwise incurable damage done by the radiation. The process is draining for the practitioner, who can only manage to help one or two people before needing at least four hours of rest.

They were also able to determine that aikital can be used to help prevent the poisoning. Therefore, they acquired enough of the prized material to make about a dozen jumpsuits, which they delivered to their workers.

Prognosis

If not treated, dotauvauŗish, almost always results in death.
