Aenngrod (eye-in-grawd)
Previously known as Gel Aenn, this city is a small town in the central part of the Toldrun See. It is a crossroads town surrounded by farmland for many days' travel. Aenngrod and its surrounding farms are the main supplier of food for the entire kingdom, specifically the Holy City of Toldrun and the various border forts that the See maintains for the war effort. Part of the extended "territory" of Aenngrod reaches the sea to provide fish, salt, and other goods for the kingdom.
Demographics
The population is about 45% dwarf and 45% human, with halflings and elves making up the majority of the rest of the population. There is one family of goblins that have been in the area for several generations.
The vast majority of folks are farmers and other low-wealth workers in the nearby lands. There is a bit of a hospitality industry as well, which caters to the traveling merchants heading between the Holy City and other parts of the kingdom and world.
Geography
The most notable geography around Aenngrod is the vast plains that stretch as far as the eye can see in any direction. These plains are broken up occasionally by small copses of trees or grassland shrubbery. Hills, some with small caves, also dot the landscape periodically. Closer to the sea, the land begins to gently slope downward and meets the water at a gentle angle, not daunting cliffs or a rocky border. The foothills become larger and larger the further east one travels, toward the Holy City which is built into the mountain.
