Hendaryl
An addictive drug that dominates the Galaxy
Hendaryl is a moderately addictive drug prevalent across the entirety of the Galaxy of Astraesto. It comes from the leaves of a species of plant of the same name. The drug is most often used for a feeling of euphoria, giving an intense feeling of happiness, with certain types leading to psychosis.
The drug has several long term symptoms with regular use, including rashes and an inability to feel pleasure. Certain types of Hendaryl also give an increased likelihood of strokes, heart attacks and blood infections.
Hendaryl is the primary trading product of the Pirate enclave of Cateron IX, with much of the galactical supply going past this singular trading post. The enclave itself is in one of the few neutral zones of the Galaxy, and despite efforts from several Galactic Powers, it has one of the most powerful neutral settlements in the Galaxy.
Despite a relative ease of use and creation, Hendaryl is quite uncommon across the Galaxy. This can mainly be stemmed from the overwhelming crackdown against the drug that began around the start of the 5th millennium.

Current Federation Federal Intelligence agent, Livina Ruslanavo became addicted to hendaryl after she was rejected from Jeraci Central Intelligence. After several years of use, she managed to successfully quit from the substance and was able to join Jeraci Domestic Intelligence
