Lokan Stylus Item in Aserere | World Anvil

Lokan Stylus

This looks like someone Lokan. I always think it a sad thing when a Loremaster dies. All that knowledge is gone. But...their Lokan, the piece of them they made, the piece of them that channeled their knowledge, is left behind - like an orphaned child. If it were my way, Loremasters would never fight in tribal wars but some fools think it wise to kill knowledge than to share it. Tch! - Loremaster Kamari   While Loremasters can fight using any weapon, their two greatest weapons are their mind and their stylus. The lokan allows a loremaster to channel their minds directly into their magic with a focus that other spellcasters usually can't reach. However, the real power of the lokan is to allow Loremasters to record their knowledge anywhere for other loremasters to read. In a world without books, libraries, or radio, the inscriptions of a loremaster against a wall or stone can save a tribe or doom them.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Part of the Loremaster must used to create the stylus so that by the end of the ritual, the stylus is an extension of the Loremaster.

Manufacturing process

It takes 24 hours to create a lokan stylus. During this time the Loremaster must remain conscious with no external magical interference as they imbue the stylus with their magic and lifeforce.

Significance

Those that take on the mantel of Loremaster must create a Lokan Stylus in a ritual that connects them through magic and sacrifice to the the stylus, turning it into a tool capable of channeling the arcane.
