Common Etiquette rules

It's crucial in valmean society to respect and honour your elders. Many honorifics are used to talk to them, as well as certain hand positions (your hands always need to be lower than your elder's) . This doesn't mean that elders are talking down to the younger people as is so often the case in other societies that care a lot about age. The speech of the elders also includes honorifics used for people younger than them, and they usually indicate a fresh mind or something along those lines.
Mutual trust and respect is the basis of valmean society.

Common Dress code

Since they live in the water for the most part, valmeans don't really wear clothing, except for when they are on land, because of the freezing temperatures. Therefore, when they do wear clothing, it's almost exclusively fur and thick wool garments, which are layered on top of each other to keep the cold out.
