Lumisashi Voldrek

Head Priest Lumisashi Voldrek (a.k.a. Lumi)

Born on Empyris Island in the Euhukoa Empire on Justicebringer 1st, 1896 in the Age of Awakening. Lumisashi's life seemed to be on a set path from the moment he hatched from his egg. His scales were a shining silver, rare even here so close to the portal to the Plane of Air and the home of dragons. Most dragonborn had muddled and indistinct metallic scales, no matter their heritage.   Because of his beautiful silver scales, and because he'd been born on the first of the month named after Bahamut, his family expected great things from him. He did truly become great but not in as traditional a manner as his parents might have liked.

Personal history

Lumisashi was fifteen years old, a newly adult dragonborn, when he received his calling from Bahamut. The god spoke within him and asked if he would accept the responsibility of becoming a cleric devoted to Bahamut. Lumisashi accepted, having been raised to worship Bahamut and follow his tenets above the other prime deities. He had also been raised with big expectations and pressure from his family and he didn't want to let them down, so even though he was scared at having such a heavy responsibility there was no hesitation.   As a cleric, Lumisashi travelled around and helped as many in need as he could across the islands of Euhukoa, upholding justice and honour and set a shining example of what a faithful of Bahamut should be like. There were many times when he felt like he wasn't enough or that he would surely fail to live up to what people saw him as but nevertheless he kept doing his best.   In one aspect he was a disappointment to his family; he never married or had children of his own. They had wanted him to carry on the bloodline in hope of more silver scaled dragonborn to honour their family name. Lumisashi just never had the time or interest in settling down for long enough to raise a family of his own, and he definitely wasn't going to get a wife and children just to leave them alone while he travelled.   After many years of adventures and charitable work across the islands of Euhukoa, Lumisashi was called on by Bahamut to go on the greatest adventure of his life. He was to enter the Plane of Air and enact Bahamut's will there and perhaps even one day be in the presence of his god. Lumisashi said farewell to his family, this time even more uncertain about his ability to return, and set off for the Sky Sanctum to go through the portal to the Plane of Air.   Before he went through he took some time in the monastery to speak to some of the monks there who had gone through the portal before and what he could expect. There he also met a young monk in training named Heska Delmirev, a dragonborn who also had a rare colouration of his scales - although unlike Lumisashi's desirable metallic scales, Heska's were pure black. Lumisashi felt for Heska like he would a younger brother and made sure to spend some extra time with him before he had to leave.   Lumisashi's adventures in the Plane of Air spanned many years and were very fulfilling, but once he came back to the Prime Material he felt old and exhausted. He decided to finally settle down in Imperos and work as a priest at the temple of Bahamut there.    After his first couple of years as a priest, Heska came all the way from the temple in Seavind on Ankare Island to speak to him about a very serious matter. What he found out from Heska about some of the priests and important figures of the temple in Seavind horrified him and definitely didn't fall in line with what he had learned from Bahamut during all his years as a cleric. Their views of justice were warped and had to be corrected.    Knowing that as a cleric his words held more weight within any temple of his faith, Lumisashi joined Heska and went to Seavind where he dismantled the leadership of the temple there. Some of them were jailed for their actions while others were fired and disgraced. It was difficult to know if they'd found everyone with the backwards views and beliefs but it was better than nothing to show that that line of thinking was not acceptable.    After that, Lumisashi took up his travelling again but this time it was to go to every place of worship dedicated to Bahamut and make sure that the priests and other leaders in the faith were properly educated in interpreting the writings and tenets of Bahamut in hopes that it would stop further atrocities from happening.    Once he was done with this years long endeavour, he returned to Imperos where he was named head priest and continued to spread enlightened views of merciful justice.
