The Northern Sword
Tamerea. Resembling a long bladed sword, the tip of the blade points at the northern axis of which the planet spins, and is always in the same point of the sky. Anyone who travels outside of their home settlement should learn how to spot this constellation, for it will always point due north. If you can see the constellation you will always be able to orient yourself.
This constellation is vital for navigation on Geography
Found in the northern hemisphere, a total of seven stars make up this constellation. The tip of the sword is found due north, and the constellation is one of the largest in the night sky. This makes it relatively easy to locate, no matter where you are in the northern hemisphere.
History
This constellation has it's origins with Humans, but as the various Tamerean Folk interacted with each other more and more others began to also use the constellation for travel. By far the most well known constellation, it is probably used the most by sailors. For sailors, "So long as I have my Sword I will know my way." is a common farewell to loved ones before setting sail on a long voyage.
There are several stories behind the constellation's origin, though most involve a hero throwing their sword into the sky for one reason or another. Some common variations include...
There was a mighty battle and at some point the hero threw their sword at the enemy so hard that not only did the sword pierce their torso, but it also flung them up into the sky and pinned them to the heavens.
The sky was going to fall down so a mighty hero threw their sword to pin the sky up.
And the sword was a powerful weapon that could destroy the world so a hero flung it into the sky to keep it out of the wrong hands.
