Fatefeather Quill

A Fatefeather Quill is made from a feather of an Angel dipped in the blood of a Dragon in an ever-shifting ritual during a very precise celestial event, making them exceedingly rare to come by. Those who dip the nib in the blood of a living creature and begin to write will find themselves scribing about future events involving the creature. The precision of these premonitions get less and less useful the further into the future that is written about, until no more can be discerned until a writing attempt is done again at a later date.
This can be used to know locations a person may visit during the coming day or people they interact with, however if the writer causes an interaction with the subject, either direct or indirect, the validity of and premonitions from that point on are voided. Thus, a writer cannot write about themselves, and premonitions come to a halt if the subject is fated to encounter the writer.
There are documents of rare cases where a premonition is absolute and cannot be altered, though these are normally due to a naturally occurring death, there are a handful of instances for other events, normally involving grander scale elements like war.

Manufacturing process

The specifics of the ritual beyond the components is tied to the celestial bodies, so the creator of a Fatefeather Quill must scry beforehand to find both the ideal time and focuses of the ritual. Once these elements have been discerned then the ritual may take place; missing or failing to perform the ritual will mean a new scry will be needed. During the ritual the angel feather is dipped in the blood, leaving it crimson thereafter. Once the ritual is complete the Fatefeather is made, and attaching the nib is the final part of the process. There will be marking inscribed on the nib too which are discerned during the ritual to make it work in sync with the feather.

• A pen nib, made of tin or silver, or an alloy of the two.
