Eyo Bengürï

"Why did it spare me? Why didn't I help? What could I have done? It sat there, in the shadows, boring through my being with it's wicked eyes. It knew! It wanted me to escape. To tell it's story. To live the rest of my life in fear." - Ozumo Duskmantle

Living deep within the frozen forests of the North, Eyo Bengürï, or the "Cold Death," hunts using superior intellect and pack tactics. The ability to outsmart any potential threat has solidified its place at to top of the icy food chain as an apex predator. Gathering large packs of lesser intelligence creatures by buying their trust and subordinance, the Eyo Bengürï uses leverage and dominance to make the pack do its bidding. Whenever a kill is made, the Cold Death is the first to decide who eats and who starves.
Tales of these beasts have spread across the country and across time, being feared by Kings in their frozen thrones, and children huddled around a warm hearth. Very few have lived to tell of their encounters with Eyo Bengürï, but it is clear that there are more than one Cold Death walking the evergreen sentinels. The encounter logs speak of packs of wolves, ents, even the rogue giant, all attacking as a coordinated team to meet a common goal. Almost always a looming trio of cold and glowing eyes are seen in the shadows, orchestrating a symphony of chaos and death.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Standing on two thick, treetrunk like legs, Eyo Bengürï stands a full 5 meters tall. Covered from snout to tail in feathers of icy colors. It has two arms that can be tucked near its body, under its feathers to keep them warm, they're exposed completely from their first join down to its talons. On the ends of the arms are hand-like appendages. Each hand has three long tri-jointed fingers tipped with razor-sharp talons, and a thumb as well. Its head is akin to a lion, only the mane is of feathers, not fur. Atop its head is two large, multi-pointed antlers of hard keratin denser than most metals. It has three eyes that have only ever been seen glowing a slight white-blue color. The same color is seen in every member of its pack. Some say each Eyo Bengürï has it's own unique eye color, but this is yet to be proven.
It's like the beast was controlling them. Like a puppeteer and we were just part of the show. - Thorin Grimmbeard
