The Legion

Two sides were getting ready for the battle. On one side, the army of The Kingdom of Fimra, on the other the forces of Klava Empire.
In one of the tents of the Kingdom of Fimra, a commander opened his bottle of wine. Their forces outnumbered Klava almost 10:1. It seemed like he finally would get his own title and land.
Suddenly, one of his men ran into the tent.
"Sir! A new unit joined Klava forces."
"What does it matter? They could triple their numbers and they still wouldn't have a chance!"
"No, sir! Their banner! It's a black banner with the white symbol of Klava! The Legion's banner!"
The bottle fell out of the commander's hand. He started sweating.
"Send the messenger at once! We're surrendering."

The elite unit of Klava Empire, serving directly under Witch-Commander. They have been formed by him during the Age of War, and, many generations later, they still serve him.

Composition

Manpower

The Legion always consists of 1500 people. If one of them dies, after their funeral, another recruit can join the unit. Before he became the emperor, it was Witch-Commander who chose the people to join.
All of the members of The Legion go through rigorous training that sifts out the weak and unloyal people. At the end of the training, the recruits are ready to serve and sacrifice their lives in the name of the empire.
None of the Legionaries have ever disobeyed Commander's orders or betrayed him, maybe because of fear, maybe because of loyalty, maybe because of his charisma.
At least 100 of Legionaries are capable of using Color magic. Most of them serve as field medics, but at least a few of them will serve as living artillery.

Equipment

Witch-Commander ensures that his people will always have the best and the strongest gear possible.
Before the Color embroidery has been popularized, his people wore the highest quality practical armor. As the armor started being replaced with embroidered uniforms, they replaced their armor with them.
Now, all of the members of The Legion wear Black uniforms that enhance their strength. On the inside, those uniforms are covered with Red and Yellow embroidery, which reduces the damage they take significantly and negates the force of attacks. Additionally, the Yellow embroidery serves a second purpose where it stabilizes the vital organs and their functions should a soldier get wounded after all.
Aside from their wear, the Legionaries are equipped with various weapons such as spears, sabers, firearms, and shields covered with Yellow runes (as to negate - bounce off the strikes of the enemies better).

Commander's magic

As a Witch, Commander possesses almost unlimited source of Colors. He can use them in an offensive manner, however, he prefers to use it as a support for his soldiers.
Filling their bodies with Black, he enhances their strength and endurance. During the tactical retreat, he creates a shield of Red around them. The small dose of Yellow prevents them from tripping or opening themselves after an attack.
And, one of his most powerful supportive spells, he can use Blue to look through the eyes of his soldiers at any time. Thanks to that he can know the situation on the other side of the battlefield in a matter of seconds.

Reputation

Despite what Klava's propaganda might say, The Legion actually lost some of their battles. Because of their status as an elite, whenever one of them gets captured (which happens rarely as they prefer to die in combat), the enemies of Klava treat them with respect (or fear of what Commander might do).
Legate considers those losses an entertaining change of pace.
